Innovation and sustainable growth
Lifestyle and Design Cluster is a national business cluster in design, fashion, and furniture. We promote innovation and sustainable growth in small and medium-sized design - and fashion industries.
We achieve this by gathering knowledge through projects and activities and sharing it further—among other places, here on the website and through our newsletter, which you are welcome to sign up for.
The resale concept Børneloppen won the pitch competition Lifestyle Growth, held in October at Aarhus City Hall.
The winning concept is based on franchise stores where sellers can rent booths to sell children's clothing. It captivated the strong panel of business professionals as an excellent example of what sustainability can also represent.
"The business is a refreshing counterbalance to everything being online," said the panel chairman, Christian Stadil, who also noted that the business has successfully scaled and achieved impressive profitability.
At Lifestyle and Design Cluster, companies and knowledge institutions become part of a community whose goal is to use research and development as a foundation for innovation and growth in the lifestyle industry.
We create development environments and establish networks across companies and knowledge institutions. Here, your company gains access to the latest research-based knowledge on circular economy, internationalization, and innovation.
We Do Wood is focused on growth and seeks a board that can challenge it with inspiration and experience.
The furniture company was founded by two cabinetmakers who wanted to produce bamboo for a sustainable profile. Production has taken place in both Italy and Eastern Europe but now occurs only in Denmark, where bamboo remains part of the material choice, along with locally felled wood and collected plastic.
LiiteGuard has chosen investors carefully
LiiteGuard was founded by a former professional soccer player and a sports physiotherapist. The idea emerged from a conversation about persistent knee problems, which they had both experienced and noticed were common among many soccer players.
The vision was to create a product that addresses some of these issues. At the same time, they purposefully sought investors who could see the potential in their business idea and were willing to invest the necessary funds.
Our clothing habits need to change significantly, it was emphasized during a debate on how to build, educate, and dress sustainably and circularly.
The discussion was complemented by designer Cecilie Bønnelycke Hansen, who is passionate about encouraging everyone to think differently when buying clothes. This includes both reusing materials and choosing quality to ensure clothing lasts for years.
