Collaboration drives export
Lifestyle and Design Cluster has a sharp focus on international collaboration because businesses in the cluster generate a large portion of revenue from export sales.
The Danish market is too small for many lifestyle businesses. They need to develop the right products for international markets and take global market areas into account in their circular transition and new business models.
War, pandemics and supply crises are evidence that the future is unpredictable. The large exports from lifestyle businesses pose many challenges to them.
In our internationalisation effort we focus in particular on:
Facilitating networks
We facilitate networks among managements of lifestyle businesses. We support the managers with the latest knowledge, business development and innovation opportunities that can help them fulfil their potential.
International value chains
The businesses often have international value chains with a large portion of their production outside the EU. This needs an international perspective.
In addition, current and coming EU regulations create a need for innovation, both in product design and regarding traceability, transparency, new business models etc. in their relationships with business partners.
Matchmaking
We identify and collect relevant knowledge, for example in partnership with the innovation centres, by identifying relevant collaboration partners and by organising study tours. The initiative targets knowledge partners and businesses and aims to match them with potential international partners.
Agile technology and artificial intelligence (AI) will become very important for businesses navigating in rapidly changing international markets. We will encourage the use of AI to improve decision support, automate operations and predict trends. This enables the businesses to anticipate global changes. AI integration and other technologies will build cohesion in global value chains and accelerate the green transition by making circular economy a core principle in all aspects of the supply chain.
We identify international funding programmes that can support businesses in their transition to circularity. We also facilitate and matchmake to form consortiums for pilot projects and to disseminate Danish solutions.
