Circular Furniture Network

Discover the latest trends, connect with like-minded brands, and collaborate for a more sustainable furniture and interior industry.

Purpose

An exclusive business network

Circular Furniture Network is an exclusive business network for Danish furniture and interior brands.
It works strategically with circular economy and responsibility, aiming to share knowledge, develop solutions, and collaborate with like-minded brands on common challenges.

The network serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, sparring, and collaboration, where companies already advancing on their circular journey meet for concrete input and inspiration – and to work together toward shared future goals.

30 of Denmark’s most influential furniture brands and solution providers are part of the network, which acts as a collaborative platform addressing the industry’s most pressing challenges – together.

In a unique and trusted forum, we collaborate to drive systemic change – extending product lifespans, developing more sustainable materials, ensuring transparency and traceability in the supply chain, and promoting design that supports biodiversity.
Our shared ambition is clear: to transform the furniture industry from within.

Join open and engaging conversations where knowledge is shared, boundaries are challenged, and visionary ideas take shape.
Experience how cross-industry collaboration is not only possible – but essential – for building a more responsible future for the furniture sector.

“The network is for furniture brands that want to strengthen their circular development through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and strategic partnerships.”

United around shared challenges

The network was founded in 2022 at the request of several exhibiting brands from Circular Furniture Days 2022.
Since then, they have continued the dialogue, focusing on collaboration and synergies within their circular work. The network has on several occasions showcased the results of its projects at fairs, exhibitions, and events.

In 2024, the mantra “united around shared challenges” has been strengthened – creating space for collaboration on major issues that can drive the green agenda forward in the furniture and interior design industry.

Event – Project STOOL

The joint project STOOL is a collaboration between eight furniture and design companies, presenting 13 very different designs and expressions based on the same basic stool structure. Each piece is assembled using waste materials to minimize environmental impact – from surplus flag ropes and fabric offcuts to recycled carpets and wood. Every material has been transformed into a stool that is beautiful, functional, and playful.

The global furniture industry remains one of the largest producers of waste. With this co-creation project, we aim to inspire change – to encourage greener thinking, practices, and processes, and to promote greater responsibility. Our ambition is to reduce waste and foster a more circular economy.

A key goal of the project is to measure the CO₂ impact of each of the 13 stools, allowing comparison of the environmental footprint of the different materials used in each design. We believe that by providing this transparency, we can encourage more sustainable practices across the furniture industry and help consumers make informed choices.

Participants in the stool experiments:
The Upcycl
Twig
Wedowood
Mumutane
Sofacompany
Målbar
Warm Nordic
Paper Paste Living

The project has been showcased at 3daysofdesign 2023, the Furniture Seminar 2023, and Circular Furniture Days 2023.
