Circular Fashion & Textile Days 2022

Circular Fashion & Textile Days afholdes i samarbejde med CIFF d. 10. – 12. august 2022. Her kan du opleve en udstilling, der sætter fokus på cirkulære produkter, løsninger og forretningsmodeller.

Circular Fashion & Textile Days

11.00-11.45 – The Role of Craft in Fashion Education – Main Stage

Since the globalization hit the Danish fashion scene in the late 1980’s, almost all production and much product development has been outsourced and deployed the industry of know-how and textile skills. This development has been mimicked within education where crafts and textile skills has played a less prominent role and decreased the level of know-how and product innovation. As educations we now stand at a crossroad in time where the sustainable agenda calls for reshoring of know-how and re-installment of textile skills for making long-lasting products and services for maintenance and repurposing. But how can we do this? And what is actually asked for in the fashion industry of today?

Speakers: Kjetil Aas, The Royal Academy / Asta Veisig Baggesen, Lecturer, KEA Design-Copenhagen Business Academy / Malene Harsaae, Lecturer Master of Design, VIA University College / Christel Arnevik, Teaching Assistant Professor, DSKD, Design School Kolding / Morten Dybro, Head of Sales and development Danish fashion and textile / Moderated by Else Skjold, Associate professor The Royal Danish Academy

The Analog Digital: The future of digitalization

With business-as-usual starting to resume globally in the wake of what appears to be the end of the Coronavirus pandemic, the meaning of usual in many cases is forever altered. It’s certainly true in the wholesale fashion space, where retailers flock seasonally to tradeshows to do their buying. The pandemic changed the reality by kickstarting long overdue digitization. Now with in-person events beginning to fill calendars, will things change? ’How has a full blown year of digital commerce left an impact on the new normal for wholesale and fashion.
