Future of Fashion 2017

Newly proclaimed, graduate-educated designers and unique talents are the blood that make the mood to a marvelous size that is changing him season by season. They are the heartblood, which undoubtedly keeps the mood’s heartbeat in firm trot. But heartbreaks need to flow and designers need recognition. Therefore, Future of Fashion matches this season with designers with established actors in the fashion industry, while young designers are able to show creatures and themselves to a large international audience. For everyone and the best of the future.

Future of Fashion has as a general purpose to facilitate a better meeting between the newly educated talents of state-recognized fashion design education and the industry, with the aim of facilitating candidates’ path to the labor market. At the same time, it is the purpose of the industry to be able to get the best possible updates on what is happening with the new designers and to improve their opportunities for recruitment as best as possible.

Wednesday, 9 August during the fashion week, 19 sets of young feet will trip nervously behind the scenes of the CIFF showcases during the Copenhagen Fashion Week.

The catwalk is filled with creations committed by the owners of the nervous feet – 19 young graduates from both Kolding Design College and KADK. They are the stars in the performance we have chosen to call “Future of Fashion – La Grande Finale”.

For especially three of the exhibiting designers, there is no doubt a final. None of the designers know who, but after the show, three of them leave with a travel agency from the Lund-Bugge Foundation of NOK 7500.

However, La Grande Finale is two-part. At 11 o’clock the first models take place on the catwalk, but already an hour earlier, designers push hands with specially invited guests from fashion and business, which will facilitate the transition from students to graduates, says Betina Simonsen, CEO of the Innovation Network Lifestyle & Design Cluster, in collaboration with educational institutions and trade organizations, leading  the Future of Fashion event.

Before the show – sparring with companies

Before the show, the graduating designers from the Kolding Design School and KADK will showcase their portfolio of looks and collections where specially invited fire owners, designers and other fashionable people can contribute with knowledge, experience, sparring and, not least, be inspired by new and different thoughts at the young designers.

Before, between and after the shows, companies will have the opportunity to see the designers’ portfolios, covering both the students from fashion as well as from textiles working with textile to fashion. At the same time, it is the intention that the meeting between the institutions, the graduate designers and the business community can create better relationships. In addition, a lot of attention is paid to international companies coming to Denmark and meeting all the new Danish talents.
