JOIN launch was a huge draw
The launch of JOIN – the World’s first public nonprofit co-creation platform
Design Museum Denmark provided the setting for the Launch of JOIN- the World’s first public nonprofit co-creation platform on the 22nd. June 2012.
There was a large attendance to the launch of JOIN. In spite of the pouring rain there was a large attendance and inquisitiveness at the Design Museum Denmark which provided the setting for the launch event.
Kohei Nishiyama, founder of CUUSOO.com, has been a source of inspiration for the development of JOIN. He gave a presentation of the potential in co-creation, while an enthusiastic Eric Von Hippel presented some of his latest research within user innovation. On the day there was also a chance to hear about the possibilities and getting hands-on experience with the JOIN platform.
About JOIN
JOIN – Joint Online Innovation Network – is an online community, where manufacturers, designers and end users in a systematic way can develop successful products together. The intention is to increase the companies’ growth and competitiveness by facilitating a business model that makes user driven innovation easier, cheaper, and less risky for the companies, and at the same time makes it easier for designers to become entrepreneurs.
The project focuses on products within lifestyle, interior and clothing. JOIN is inspired by CUUSOO, a Japanese innovation platform, where 130.000 users, 6.000 designers and 1.500 manufacturers over the last 10 years have developed new innovative products together. Experience shows that an online community innovation platform has a huge potential for helping Danish SMEs involving end users in their product development processes.
