According to recent studies, then if creative entrepreneurs are going to make it in the lifestyle industry, they must have a business understanding and leadership-skills. Nordic Buzz’s competency programme dresses newly hatched companies for creating growth and workplaces.
Creative entrepreneurs cannot live on creativity alone. According a study done by Mogens Dilling-Hansen, lector at the institute of economy, BSS, Aarhus, it is crucial that they learn basic economic skills, such as marketing, sales and leadership.
“These entrepreneurs have a creative impulse, that drives them forward when they design products. And that is very important, but it is also very important that they have leadership skills, and knows of business-development and growth strategies, if they are going to gain the optimal potential of their company.” Says Mogens Dilling-Hansen.
The study follows the creative companies in the competency-programme Nordic Buzz, over a period of 3 years, and the purpose is to figure out where it hurts. If there is a big difference between the actual and the desired situation in the marketing-area, then the company is in big trouble. The bigger the difference, the bigger the need for supplementing the creativity with basic knowledge of how a company should work.
